We are delighted to confirm that in November 2017 Diana completed a charity cycle ride in Myanmar (Burma) raising funds for The St. James's Place Charitable Foundation.
"The cycle commenced after 3 flights and over 24 hours travelling. The ride started in the stunning area of Bagan; an ancient city in the middle of Myanmar where there are more than 2000 Buddhist monuments. Over the following days we cycled through Mount Popa, on to Meikhtila, up and up to the hilltown at Kalaw, onto Pindaya before arriving at Lake Inle. We were faced with hot and humid conditions, rough roads and tracks and long distances with hills to climb. Not for the faint hearted but exhilarating. The scenery was stunning although not always easy to enjoy with my eyes focused firmly on the ground to avoid any potholes that would have easily sent me careering over my handlebars! The people, especially children, were so friendly and I was greeted with smiles everywhere. As we were clearly not local and dressed in very strange clothing that we pass off as cycle gear, myself and my fellow riders were somewhat off an anomaly!
A huge thank you for all those who supported me. The St. James's Place Charitable Foundation is an inspirational charity and succeeds in making a significant difference to the lives of children and young people."
